Compatibility

It is a standard Hikvision IP camera and joins a Hikvision NVR normally, with remote viewing through Hik-Connect and site management through iVMS-4200. Check the deterrence behaviour against the head end: on some jobs the strobe and siren run from the camera’s own detection, on others the integrator triggers them from the recorder or alarm panel, and the two lead to different commissioning work.

Common questions on this model

Can I mix this bullet with turrets on the same building?
Electrically, yes — they sit on the same recorder without complaint. Visually it rarely survives review. Keep one shape per elevation, and vary it only where the building changes character, such as a rear service yard.

Will the strobe and alarm cause a problem in a residential compound?
It can. Deterrence facing a neighbour’s window or a bedroom balcony generates complaints quickly. Decide during the position walk which cameras have it enabled and which record only, then put that on the drawing.

The client’s architect wants the cameras hidden. What do I tell them?
That a deterrent camera hidden is a deterrent wasted. Agree instead where visibility is wanted — gates, bays, boundary runs — and use less prominent positions elsewhere. That conversation belongs before installation, not at snagging.
