• Cable route: decide before the cable is pulled whether it leaves through the base into the wall or out of the side into surface trunking. Get it wrong and you are chasing a wall you were not asked to chase. Price a junction box if the run is surface.
• Weather sealing at the gland: the housing rating means nothing if the RJ45 tail sits in open air. Plan a sealed gland or enclosure at the joint, and assume an Egyptian summer punishes a taped joint inside one season.
