Hikvision IP Video Intercom Kit DS-KIS610-P

The DS-KIS610-P is a Hikvision KIS6-series IP video intercom kit — a door station and an indoor monitor supplied together as one pre-matched package, running over standard network cable with PoE, which is what the -P denotes in this family. You are not specifying a system here. You are buying a door.

On a villa or a small building the slow part of an intercom job is never the drilling — it is deciding which door station pairs with which monitor, which supply feeds which end, and whether that pairing is still supported in eighteen months. A kit removes it: Hikvision has already made that decision and put one part number on it.

Where it fits

This is the right product when the site has one entrance and a small, known number of people who answer it — a villa, a duplex, a compound unit, a showroom reception. It is also right when engineering time is the real cost: a kit turns half a day of cross-checking part numbers into one line on a quote you can issue the same afternoon.

The honest limit is the other side of that coin. A kit is scoped for one door and a small number of indoor stations. If the client is describing a building that will grow — a gate and a lobby door, a caretaker station, risers to several floors — do not start from a kit. Start from the modular KD-series door stations, where modules and indoor stations scale independently. A kit expanded twice costs more than the modular station you should have quoted first.

Before you order — three things to confirm

• How many indoor stations the client actually wants. Ask before you quote, not after. If they want a screen upstairs and one in the kitchen, confirm against the datasheet whether that sits inside this kit’s limit or becomes an added station on a separate line.
• The lock, its type and its power. Electric strike or magnetic, fail-safe or fail-secure, and the current it draws. Confirm the door station’s relay arrangement against the lock you intend to fit, and settle who supplies the lock and its own power supply before the van is loaded.
• The network path and the PoE source. Door station and monitor are IP devices on Cat cable, not two-wire units. Confirm the cable route, where PoE comes from — switch or injector on site — and whether that source is in the kit or something you must add.

Can I add a second indoor monitor later? Usually yes, up to the limit the model supports — and that limit is the number to confirm before you commit. Tell us how many the client wants and we will check the datasheet.

Is a lock included? No. Treat the lock and its power supply as a separate line on your quote, chosen against the door and confirmed against the door station’s relay arrangement.

Is this a two-wire intercom? No. It is an IP kit on standard network cable with PoE, which is why the network path is a design question here, not an afterthought.
