The DS-QAZ1A1000G1-VB4 is a 1000 W network amplifier with four zones — the head end of a large audio system rather than a component of a small one. The power follows the space, not the fairness — the loading bay may take several times what the whole office floor does, and the design should say so explicitly rather than divide the total by the number of zones.

So the honest sequence is the same as on any audio job, just with more at stake: list the zones, count the points in each, total the load per zone, then check that the sum sits inside the amplifier’s budget with headroom left. Do it in that order and the amplifier is the last decision. Do it backwards and the amplifier becomes a constraint that shows up during commissioning, when changing it is expensive.

Before you order — three things to confirm

• The load per zone, not just the total. A design can fit the overall budget and still fail because one zone alone needs more than its share. Total each zone separately.
• The rack, the supply and the heat. A kilowatt-class amplifier belongs in a rack with real ventilation and a supply sized for it, and it should be on whatever protected power the rest of the head end uses. Confirm the cabinet exists and has room before delivery.
• The network and who runs it. This is a networked device on somebody’s infrastructure. Agree addressing, segregation and who supports it with the client’s IT before the order, not on the day.
