Hikvision 32-ch 1.5U K Series AcuSense 4K NVR DS-7732NXI-K4

A thirty-two channel 4K AcuSense recorder with four drive bays in a 1.5U chassis — and the K Series twin of an I Series unit carrying the same headline numbers. The series difference is a datasheet question we answer in writing; what usually decides the order is your camera schedule. Call 16454.

Description

The Hikvision DS-7732NXI-K4 is the K Series answer to a thirty-two channel job: thirty-two IP camera channels, 4K, AcuSense at the recorder, four internal drive bays, in a 1.5U rack chassis. On paper that reads like a complete specification. It is not, because this catalogue carries a second thirty-two channel AcuSense recorder with four bays.

That unit is the I Series DS-7732NXI-I4/S. Side by side the headline numbers are near enough identical, leaving a buyer to choose on one letter in the middle of a part number. The two series do differ, in ways the code does not spell out, and we do not guess at them: before quoting either we check the manufacturer datasheet for the revisions actually in stock and put the differences in writing.

Where it earns its place on a job

On a thirty-two channel job the series is usually not what decides the order. The camera schedule decides it: how many cameras are really going on, at what resolution each records, at what frame rate, how long the client has agreed to keep the footage, and whether anything beyond plain recording runs on the same machine. Those five answers narrow the choice fast, in a direction unrelated to the letter in the part number. A buyer who sends us the camera schedule gets a recommendation; a buyer who picks on the channel count is choosing between two boxes he has no way to compare.

This recorder earns its place when the schedule points at it, and we will say so on a quotation with the datasheet attached. What we will not do is call the K the better buy because it sounds cheaper, or the I because it sounds higher; neither claim survives a real list of cameras.

Before you order — three things to confirm

  • The camera schedule, before the series. Count, resolution per camera, frame rate, and the retention the client has signed off. Choosing between the K and the I unit without that list is guesswork dressed as a decision.
  • What else the machine has to do. Plain recording is one workload; extra analytics, third-party cameras, an existing VMS or heavier live decoding are others. Say which apply and we will read the datasheet limits for the revision in stock rather than assume they are all comfortable.
  • The revision you are being quoted. Ask for the exact model and revision on the quotation, with the port, channel and storage arrangement in writing. On two recorders this similar, that line on the paperwork is what stops the wrong one arriving on site.

Technical specifications

Compatibility

Hikvision IP cameras, administered and viewed through Hik-Connect and iVMS-4200. Third-party cameras, an existing VMS, and the channel, port and storage arrangement of the revision you are quoted are datasheet questions, answered from the datasheet rather than the model code.

What’s in the box

Supplied as a recorder unit. Do not price drives, rails, brackets, cabling or any power accessory as though they come with it. Contents for the revision currently in stock are confirmed on the order — call 16454.

Common questions on this model

What is the difference between the K Series and the I Series here?
They do differ, but we will not recite a difference we have not checked. We read the manufacturer datasheets for the K and I revisions we currently hold and tell you in writing what separates them for your job. Anyone who answers that instantly, from memory, across every revision, is guessing.

We already run I Series recorders elsewhere. Should we match?
A fair reason to lean one way: one set of spares across the estate, one interface your technicians already know. That is a procurement argument, not a technical one, and it should not override the camera schedule.

Can you just confirm it handles thirty-two cameras?
It takes up to thirty-two IP camera channels; that much is in the model. Whether it handles your thirty-two depends on what those cameras are and how long the footage is kept — hence the schedule, before we confirm anything on a quotation.

Genuine Hikvision, supplied with the official one-year manufacturer warranty and delivery across Egypt. Send the camera schedule and we will tell you which of the two recorders your job actually wants — call 16454.
