Loud and understood are not the same thing, and a horn speaker exists because of the gap between them. The DS-QAE0330G1T-V is a 30 W analogue horn rated IP65, and it is specified for the places where an ordinary speaker gives up: a yard with machinery running, a loading bay in wind, a car park with hard surfaces on every side, a factory floor where the ambient noise never drops.

Before you order — three things to confirm

• The surfaces, not the floor area. Two yards of identical size behave completely differently if one is open ground and the other is walled in concrete. Tell us what the space is made of and what is above it.
• The background noise at the times that matter. A workshop at 7am and the same workshop mid-shift are different acoustic problems. Design for the noisy hour, not the quiet one.
• The amplifier and the rest of the line. A 30 W unit spends more of an amplifier’s budget than a small ceiling speaker. Confirm what is already on the line before adding to it.

Can we just turn it up?
In a hard-surfaced space, no — above a certain level extra volume costs you clarity rather than buying it. The fix is more units at lower level, aimed properly, not one unit driven harder.

How many do we need for a yard?
That comes from the shape, the surfaces and the noise, not the square metres. Send us a sketch with the boundaries and what the space is used for and we will lay it out with you.

Is IP65 enough for full outdoor use in Egypt?
IP65 is stated by the manufacturer for this model. What we would add is that mounting position matters as much as rating — under an overhang, out of standing water, and where dust will not pack into it.
