Hikvision Fingerprint Access Control Terminal DS-K1T8003MF
The DS-K1T8003MF is the plain Hikvision fingerprint terminal for one internal door with a small, stable list of staff on it. On that door it is the right answer, and specifying up is waste; once the door goes outside, or a second and third join it, we will tell you so. Call 16454.

Description
The DS-K1T8003MF is the fingerprint terminal you specify when the honest answer to “what does this door actually need” is “not much”. It is a Hikvision fingerprint access control terminal for one door, and its job is narrow on purpose: a short list of known people put a finger on it, the door opens, and there is a record.
That narrowness is the reason to buy it. This catalogue is full of terminals that do more, and a good supplier says plainly when the simple one is correct. On an internal door with a small, stable user list, capability you will not use is not insurance.
Where it fits
The brief this model fits is easy to recognise. An internal door in a small business, a stockroom, an office suite with one team, a site cabin. The requirement, plainly, is keep the door shut and know roughly who opened it. Everyone on the list is an employee, and nobody is going to attack the door — anyone determined enough would go through the plasterboard beside it. Specifying up on a door like that is not caution, it is waste, because the extra capability is administered forever and used never.
Now the boundary, which is hard. Put the door on the outside of the building and this is the wrong product. Add contractors or visitors and you have inherited a credential lifecycle it was never meant to carry. Add a second and third door and you want one place to manage people, not three terminals each holding their own list. And the moment payroll wants the data, you are buying the front end of a time system, which has to be specified as one. If any of that is in the brief today, say so before ordering: the Hikvision Pro Fingerprint Access Control Terminal DS-K1T8005MFWX-B is the more sensible start.
Before you order — three things to confirm
- The door hardware — what lock the door is getting, fail safe or fail secure, and how people get out. The terminal releases a lock, it does not supply one: lock, power supply and exit device are separate lines on the quote.
- The mounting position — confirm it is genuinely internal and sheltered. A covered walkway, a gate post or a lobby catching afternoon sun are outdoor positions here, whatever the floor plan calls them.
- Who owns the list — name the person who enrols starters and removes leavers. A terminal with three ex-employees enrolled is not access control.

Compatibility
Three checks, not one. The lock and its power supply must suit the terminal’s output, a datasheet question rather than an assumption. The connection it expects must exist at that door; retrofitting into a finished wall is the expensive part of a cheap job. And confirm which Hikvision management tools this revision works with before promising a client a screen.
What’s in the box
Contents vary between revisions, so we confirm what ships with your unit on the order. Assume nothing else is included — no lock, no power supply, no exit button, no mounting box.
Common questions
Can we start with this and add more doors later?
Physically yes, and installers do it. Honestly, it does not scale the way people expect. Each terminal is its own island, so a second door means enrolling everyone twice and a third means three lists drifting apart. For one more door and the same few people that is tolerable; beyond that, replan around central management.
The door is a side exit onto the yard. Does that count as outdoors?
Yes. If the reader is exposed to weather or direct sun this is the wrong product, whichever side of the threshold it sits on. Move it inside, or specify for external mounting.
Can we use the entry records as timesheets?
Do not buy it on that basis. There is a difference between a log of roughly who opened a door and a record that survives an argument about pay. If payroll is involved, tell us at quoting stage.
