The DS-2CD1323G2-LIUF is a fixed 2 MP turret from Hikvision’s 1-Series, the volume tier of the range, with Smart Hybrid Light imaging: it carries both infrared and white supplement light and can run on infrared, hold white light for colour after dark, or move between the two. It is not the sharpest camera Hikvision makes and was never meant to be.

It is the camera you fit forty of, which is a different job from fitting one good camera — and it is the job most of our project buyers are doing: a pharmacy chain, a landlord with twenty shop units, a contractor maintaining fifty clinics. Where it earns its place on a site

Standardisation pays where a spec sheet cannot. One spare on the van covers every branch, so a failed camera in Tanta is a swap rather than a procurement cycle. One commissioning procedure keeps the settings sheet from the first site correct on the fortieth, and an engineer who has fitted this turret a hundred times is off the ladder while a new model is still a manual. Six months on, footage from every branch looks the same in the incident report.

The honest part: standardise on the workhorse, not the flagship. A flagship earns its price on one demanding position, then gets discontinued and replaced by something with a different mount and menu, leaving a mixed estate. A 1-Series turret costs less per position and stays in production longer. The best camera for twenty sites is rarely the best camera for one site — it is the one you can keep buying.

Where a lobby wants a flush profile rather than a turret’s aimable ball, the DS-2CD1123G2-LIU is the dome in the same family and generation, keeping the exception inside the standard.

Before you order — three things to confirm

• The standard model list, agreed before the first site. Put in writing which model covers which position type — general area, entrance, corridor — and get it into the framework or maintenance contract. A standard adopted at site six is a rework order.
• Which fixed-lens variant. The variant is fixed on the order line, not on the ladder. Settle one per mounting-distance band and write it into the model list.
• Recorder generation and switch capacity per site. Confirm each branch recorder takes this camera’s generation and that the switch feeding it has channel count and power budget spare. Small sites are where headroom quietly ran out.

Compatibility

A standard Hikvision network camera: it records to Hikvision NVRs and is managed through Hik-Connect, iVMS-4200 or HikCentral. Before a rollout, check recorder generation and firmware at each branch — a mixed recorder estate hurts far more than a mixed camera estate.

Common questions on this model

We already have DS-2CD1123G2-LIU domes on some branches. Can the two live in one estate?
Yes — same family, same generation, same management software. Name one the default and the other the exception, and record which position type gets which.

Does the white light make this a deterrent camera?
No. Without an /SL suffix there is no strobe and no siren here. Hybrid light exists so the picture holds colour after dark; if the brief asks for active warning, that is a different model line.

What happens to our standard when this model is discontinued?
Ask us to flag the successor when it lands, rather than finding out on a reorder, and hold spares across the changeover. A standard survives a model change that is planned; it does not survive one that is discovered.
