Hikvision 6 MP ColorVu 3.0 Bullet Network Camera DS-2CD1067G3-LIU/SL (4 mm)

The DS-2CD1067G3-LIU/SL is the 6 MP ColorVu 3.0 bullet in Hikvision’s 1-Series, with a built-in microphone and /SL active deterrence — a strobe and an audible alarm on detection. This is the fixed 4 mm variant. Read the code carefully: it is not the DS-2CD1067G3-LIUF/SL we also stock. Datasheet and project pricing on 16454.

Description

The DS-2CD1067G3-LIU/SL is the 6 MP bullet in Hikvision’s 1-Series: ColorVu 3.0 for colour images after dark, a built-in microphone, and the /SL suffix, meaning the camera answers a detection with a strobe and an audible alarm rather than quietly logging it. It is the line you reach for when the client wants the boundary to react at two in the morning, not reviewed a week later. This is the fixed 4 mm variant, so the angle of view is settled on the order line and cannot be changed once the bracket is on the wall.

Read the code before you order, because we stock its near-twin. The DS-2CD1067G3-LIUF/SL already on this site is the same 6 MP ColorVu 3.0 body one character away — the F in LIUF, which designates a further alarm-light element in Hikvision’s supplement-light coding. Both models carry the /SL strobe and audible alarm. Exactly how the two differ in the lighting behaviour is the kind of detail that belongs on a datasheet rather than in a paragraph written from a model code, so we confirm it against the datasheet for the revision we hold at the time of quotation instead of guessing at it here. If a drawing, an insurer’s schedule or an existing installation already names one of the two, order that one — a single letter is the whole difference on the delivery note, and it is not a difference you can correct after the boxes are open.

Where it fits

Three situations make this the right choice. Wide unlit scenes that must stay in colour — a compound wall, a yard, a dealership forecourt — where the evidence that matters is the colour of a jacket or a vehicle. Sites where the point is prevention, not prosecution: the strobe and siren interrupt an intrusion while it is still trespass. And wide views where 6 MP buys scene width, one camera covering a frontage that would otherwise take two.

Buy the extra megapixels for the width of the scene, not for the distance to the face — beyond a certain range it is the light, not the sensor, that decides whether your footage is evidence or just a recording.

The fixed 4 mm lens is the second half of that decision and it deserves its own minute. A fixed lens is cheaper, has nothing to drift out of focus and nothing to fail, and on a position whose scene will not change it is the right answer. It is the wrong answer where the scene is still being argued about, where the wall may move, or where nobody has stood at the mounting point and looked. On those rows a motorised varifocal earns its cost by letting the angle be set from the head-end after the bracket is fixed.

Where a cheaper 4 MP performs identically: tight scenes. A doorway, a gate covered from a few metres, a till point. At those distances 4 MP already puts more pixels on a face than any identification standard asks for, and if retention forces a reduced frame rate, a 4 MP recorded properly beats a 6 MP recorded badly.

Before you order — three things to confirm

  • The letter, not just the family. LIU/SL or LIUF/SL — confirm which one your drawing, your existing site or your insurer’s schedule actually names. They sit next to each other in the catalogue and they are separate order lines.
  • That 4 mm suits the width you need. The lens is fixed. Send us the distance from the mounting point to the far edge of the scene and the width you must cover, and we will check the 4 mm against the datasheet before the order goes in. It cannot be corrected once the camera is on the pole.
  • Who answers the alarm, and recorder headroom. The /SL strobe and audible alarm are only an asset if something responds — confirm the arming schedule, and that a siren at night suits that boundary, because residential neighbours are where it draws complaints. Then confirm the NVR takes this channel at full resolution alongside everything already on it and still meets the retention period.

Compatibility

A Hikvision network camera, it sits on Hikvision NVRs and is managed through Hik-Connect and iVMS-4200. The deterrence is not automatic: detection rules, armed hours and the strobe and audio response are configured per camera at commissioning. On an existing installation, confirm the recorder model and firmware with us first, because older recorders do not always expose a newer camera’s deterrence behaviour. For a third-party VMS, send the platform and version.

What’s in the box

One camera in sealed manufacturer packaging with its documentation. We do not list mounting hardware, power supplies or cabling as included — box contents vary by revision, so contents for the revision in stock are confirmed on your order and anything else a position needs is a separate line.

Common questions

How is this different from the DS-2CD1067G3-LIUF/SL you also sell?
One letter, and it matters on the order line rather than in the description. Both are 6 MP ColorVu 3.0 bullets with the /SL strobe and audible alarm; the F in LIUF marks a further alarm-light element in Hikvision’s coding. We would rather confirm the exact behavioural difference from the datasheet for the revision in stock at quotation than print a sentence here we cannot stand behind. Tell us which code your paperwork names and we will supply that one.

Will 6 MP identify faces further down the driveway than 4 MP would?
Only while the light holds. In daylight, or a lit scene at night, the extra resolution genuinely extends the range at which a face is identifiable. Unlit, both run out of light at the same point.

Does the strobe and siren need a separate alarm box?
No — the /SL deterrence is built into the camera. What needs planning is the trigger logic and schedule: what fires it, at what hours, and whether the camera or the recorder owns the rule.
