This is a camera for positions where you want something to happen at the moment of detection, not at the morning review: a yard gate after hours, a loading bay, a compound side wall, a stock entrance nobody watches live. • Whether deterrence suits that position. A strobe facing a neighbouring residence, a pavement or a road is a complaint waiting to happen. Choose deterrence positions deliberately, not across the whole schedule because the part number was on offer.
• Who commissions the rules. Detection areas, arming schedule and alarm behaviour need someone with access to the recorder or the camera’s configuration. Agree in advance whether that is you or the client’s IT.

Compatibility

As a standard Hikvision IP camera it records to Hikvision NVRs and is managed through the usual Hikvision software and app. Deterrence behaviour is configured on the camera or through the recorder, so confirm your recorder’s firmware exposes those settings before committing a large batch to an older head end. With a third-party VMS, check it passes the alarm and light controls through, not only the video stream.
