Description
The DS-K1T343MFWX-B is a Hikvision K1T343-series face access terminal — a device with a fixed opinion about where a face should be. Screw it to the wall and you have fixed a point in space that everyone using that door must present themselves to, several times a day, for years.
How high that box sits will do more for this product than anything in its menus. This is the -B variant of a family that also includes the DS-K1T343MFX and the DS-K1T343MWX; we do not publish readings of what the suffix letters denote, so work from the datasheet for your code.
Where it earns its place on a job
It belongs on a door with a known, settled population: a staff entrance, a production airlock, a clinic’s non-public side. It is aimed, by default, at an average adult standing square to it, and every site has people who are not that adult. The wheelchair user. The member of staff a head taller than everyone else, and the one a head shorter. The storeman arriving with a box in both arms. Anyone in a hard hat, a hijab or safety glasses. These are not edge cases; they are Tuesday morning.
So set the height against the population actually using that door, not a default carried from the last site. Walk the approach, see where faces land at normal pace, and check a seated user has room to square up. Where one height cannot serve everyone, the honest answer is a second credential on that door — a card or code reader within comfortable reach, on the same controller — not a compromise height that makes half the staff stoop. A door that works for ninety per cent of people and quietly humiliates the other ten gets propped open with a fire extinguisher inside a month, and the access control on it is decorative.
Commission it with the people who will use it: enrol staff in what they wear to work, and have the shortest and tallest walk through before the scaffold comes down. If the door is a plain staff entrance with no second reader, price the DS-K1T343MWX alongside this one first.
Before you order — three things to confirm
- Who actually uses this door. Get the real list from site, including anyone the standard height will not serve, and set height and fallback around them, not the average.
- The mounting position. Wall build-up, back box, cable route, and what sits behind an approaching person — glazing throwing light at the terminal is a problem best found on survey.
- Power, lock hardware and the second credential. Confirm the supply arrangement and lock side against the datasheet, and that the controller can take the alternative reader.

Compatibility
This is a component of a Hikvision access control system, not a standalone box. Tell us the management platform the site runs and the lock arrangement on the door, and we will check the current datasheet against both before the order goes in.
What’s in the box
Pack contents are revised between production runs, so contents for the revision we ship are confirmed on your order. Assume nothing beyond the terminal itself, and quote fixings, power and lock hardware separately.
Common questions on this model
Can we just mount it lower so a wheelchair user can reach it?
You can, but lowering it moves the problem onto your tallest staff, who then stoop at every entry. On a mixed door, keep the terminal where it serves most people and add a reachable second credential.
Will hard hats, hijabs or safety glasses cause trouble at this door?
That is a datasheet and firmware question and we will not guess at it. The safeguard is the same everywhere: enrol people in the headwear and eyewear they work in, and test with those staff, not the engineer.
What does the -B change compared with the other K1T343 models?
We do not interpret Hikvision suffix letters in our copy, because getting one wrong on a project order is expensive. Send the codes you are comparing and we will put the current datasheets side by side.
