• Payroll scope and rule ownership. Is attendance in scope here, or only door control? If it is, name the person on the client side who owns the shift rules, lateness tolerance and exception approvals, and name the system that pays staff.
• Credential mix and enrolment. Decide which credentials the site runs on and how many people must be enrolled, confirm from the datasheet that this revision covers them, and budget the hours needed to enrol everyone.
• Door hardware and network. The terminal decides; something else releases the door. Confirm the lock type and its fail-safe or fail-secure behaviour against the fire strategy, power, the exit and emergency release devices, and the network drop.

Common questions on this model

Will the DS-K1T343MFX give me a payroll-ready attendance report on its own?
No. It produces identified events with timestamps. Shifts, grace, break deduction, overtime approval and the payroll export live in software configured with the client’s rules.

Can we use it for attendance only, with no lock wired to it?
Yes, and it is common — mount, power and network it, then treat it as a clocking point. Skipping door hardware saves cabling, not policy work.

We are replacing an old fingerprint clock. Does anything carry over?
Employee records and card numbers can usually be migrated, but faces cannot: every user must be enrolled again in person. Schedule that as its own activity, not something squeezed into commissioning day.
