The DS-K1T344MBWX-QRE1 is the Value-series face access terminal you reach for when a door has to admit people who do not work for the client. Before you order — three things to confirm

• Who issues, by name. Not “reception”, not “HR” — one named person at the client, plus a deputy for their leave. If nobody will put their name to it, passes get issued by whoever is nearest and the site is back to a shared credential.
• The default window, and the overrun rule. Agree a standard validity before go-live — a shift, a day, a week — and agree in writing that an overrun means a fresh pass, not an extended one. Re-issued extensions leave a record; passes made permanent do not.
• The 06:00 case. Walk the first morning through before quoting. The crew arrives at first light and the issuer at nine, so passes go out the day before and the terminal must be live on power and network at 06:00. Confirm door hardware and cabling then.

Common questions on this model

Our contractor firm sends a different crew every week. Do we have to enrol every new face?
No, and you should not. Have the firm’s supervisor send next week’s names by Friday, issue a pass per person with the agreed window, and let them expire. Nothing is enrolled, nothing is recovered, and the changing crew list stops being your problem.

What happens when the job overruns by a week?
The passes stop working and someone has to ask for new ones. That is the feature, not the fault. Treat each extension as a fresh issue against a named person, so the record still shows who was on site and when.

Nobody at our client wants to own this. Can the terminal handle it on its own?
It cannot. The device enforces a decision; it does not make one. Without someone accountable for revocation, budget for a supervised entrance instead — an unowned access system reverts to a wedged door within a month.
