Hikvision Face Recognition Terminal DS-K1T344MBFWX-E1
A Hikvision K1T344-series face recognition terminal, the DS-K1T344MBFWX-E1 is often specified for doors that are outside or only half-sheltered. On an Egyptian gate hut or yard entrance, the canopy, the mounting height and the way it faces decide reliability more than any rating line. Send the position and we will check it against the datasheet before quoting — call 16454.

Description
The DS-K1T344MBFWX-E1 is a Hikvision K1T344-series face recognition terminal, and on Egyptian jobs plenty of these never reach a tidy office door. They go on a gate hut at a factory yard, on a site cabin, on a warehouse man-door, or in a covered but unconditioned lobby. That is a different brief from an indoor reception desk.
None of that argues against the unit. It argues against ordering a face terminal on one rating line and letting the position look after itself. Sun on the lens and the screen, surface temperatures far above what the shaded thermometer reads, dust on the optics, condensation where chilled lobby air meets outside air — each is decided by where the terminal goes, not by what the box survives on paper.
Where it earns its place on a job
It earns it on the semi-outdoor door: technically outside, but somewhere shelter can be designed. A canopy, a deep reveal, the shaded face of a gate hut — any of those does more for the life of the unit than an extra step of ingress protection, because it keeps sun, dust and rain off the front rather than asking the seals to handle all three. On an Egyptian gate, shade is a specification, not a nicety.
Orientation is the other half of it. A terminal facing west takes the low afternoon sun into the lens and across the screen; turned north it takes almost none. Low sun is the awkward case, arriving under a canopy that copes perfectly well at midday. Walk the position at the hours the door is busy — shift change, not lunchtime. A screen nobody can read at two in the afternoon is a support call whatever the datasheet says.
Recessed optics collect a fraction of the dust an exposed face collects, and where a cold lobby meets outside air, keep the terminal on the warm side of that line. If a position cannot be sheltered or turned, we would rather say so before the order — another model from the face recognition terminals range costs less than replacing hardware twice.
Before you order — three things to confirm
- Ratings for this exact variant. We confirm the ingress protection and operating temperature range on the datasheet for the DS-K1T344MBFWX-E1 itself before quoting it for an exposed position, and we will say no if the position is wrong for it.
- Credentials. Check on the datasheet which card technology this variant reads before assuming it will read badges already issued on site.
- The physical position. Mounting height, which way the unit faces at shift change, whether a canopy or recess exists or must be built, and how power, network and door wiring reach the point.
Technical specifications
- Manufacturer: Hikvision
- Model: DS-K1T344MBFWX-E1
- Series: K1T344

Compatibility
A Hikvision access control device, commissioned and managed within Hikvision’s own access control software alongside Hikvision door hardware. Before designing it into an existing system, confirm on the datasheet which platform versions this variant is supported under — a terminal that will not enrol is a commissioning-day problem.
What’s in the box
Supplied as a genuine Hikvision-boxed unit. We do not list a lock, power supply, exit button, bracket or mounting box as included; accessories are quoted separately, and contents for the current manufacturer revision are confirmed on your order.
Common questions on this model
Can we put it on an outside gate wall in Upper Egypt?
Possibly, but not on assumption. Send the position — orientation, height, any canopy — and we will check it against the datasheet ratings for this exact model, then say so if it is wrong for the job.
The screen washes out in the afternoon. Is the unit faulty?
Usually not. It is normally direct or reflected sun on the display at a low angle. Shade above and to the sun side, or turning the mounting away from it, fixes more of these than a replacement.
Does dust on the front really affect face reading?
It can, and it builds faster on an exposed face than a recessed one. Put a wipe of the optics into site maintenance, and avoid facing the terminal into dust off an open yard.
