Common questions on this model

Can we just leave it open during the day?
Honestly, yes, and most sites end up doing exactly that — boom up through the working day, lowered at night or when the hut is unmanned. Worth admitting early, because a lane that stands open all day is not one to buy duty cycle for.

We already have ANPR at this gate. Do we still need detection in the road?
They answer different questions. The camera decides whether a vehicle is allowed through; detection tells the system where the vehicle physically is, which keeps the boom off it.

Does the barrier give us a record of every vehicle?
