Hikvision Video Intercom Door Station Module DS-KD-DIS

Hikvision Video Intercom Door Station Module DS-KD-DIS

The DS-KD-DIS is a module for Hikvision’s KD series modular door station, not a complete door station in a small box. It works only alongside a main module, a frame and a back box in the wall. Send us the module stack or the apartment count and we will draw the panel. Call 16454.

Description

The DS-KD-DIS is a component of a Hikvision KD series modular door station, not a door station in its own right. It sits in the same family as the DS-KD8003-IME1 main module; DIS is Hikvision’s label for the display module in that range — one line in a stack that becomes an entrance panel only once the other lines are there.

Mistaking a module for a station is the commonest ordering error in modular intercom, and it costs a site a delivery cycle every time. A modular door station is assembled, not bought whole: a main module holds the camera, microphone and call intelligence, and further modules — display, extra call buttons, keypad, card reader — sit beside it. They mount into a frame, the frame recesses into a back box, and only the combination behaves like a door station.

Where it earns its place on a job

Modular exists because one-piece stations run out of room. A one-piece station carries a fixed number of call buttons, and a building of twenty-four flats needs twenty-four ways to be called; modular lets the panel grow to fit the building instead. Where a name list beats a wall of buttons, a display module tells the visitor which flat is which. This is one line of a door station’s specification, and one line does not ring anybody’s flat.

The second reason is time. When a building gains a floor or splits a unit, a one-piece station means a new station, a new back box and a patched façade; a modular one means another module in the frame. On a compound released block by block, that keeps the specification alive into phase two.

So price it as a component, never as the item. The quote also needs the main module, the frame, the back box, an indoor station per flat, the network and power feeding the panel, and the lock with its release.

Before you order — three things to confirm

  • The full module stack — settle the whole panel first: main module, this module, any button, keypad or card modules, frame and back box. Send us the module stack, or the apartment count, and we will draw it.
  • Frame and back box — modules mount into a frame sized for a set number of positions, and that frame needs a matching back box. On a refit, confirm what is in the opening before assuming this module joins it.
  • How residents are called — a directory panel and a button-per-flat panel are different module counts. Agree that with the building owner first: it changes the stack, not just the finish.

Technical specifications

  • Manufacturer: Hikvision

Compatibility

This module is normally stacked with a main module such as the DS-KD8003-IME1, the part that sees, speaks and calls. Hikvision revises modules, frames and back boxes across the KD generations, so tell us what is on site and we will confirm the combination before anything ships.

What’s in the box

Supplied as the module only. No frame, back box, main module, indoor station, power supply, lock or cabling is implied by this line; each is ordered and priced separately. Contents for the current revision are confirmed on the order.

Common questions on this model

Can I buy just this?
You can, but it will do nothing on its own — it cannot call a flat, see a visitor or release a door. It earns its keep only once a main module, frame, back box and indoor stations are ordered with it.

How many modules does the building need?
That follows from the apartment count and how residents are called. Send the flat count, the number of entrances and whether you want a directory or a button per flat, and we will draw the stack.

We already have a KD panel — can we add this to it?
Often, but it depends on how many free positions the frame in the wall has. Photograph the panel and the back box, send them in, and we will say whether it extends.

Every unit we supply is genuine Hikvision, carries the official one-year manufacturer warranty and is delivered across Egypt. For a drawn-up module stack or project pricing on a multi-entrance job, call 16454.
