Hikvision Ultra Series Face Recognition Door Station DS-KD9403-E6

The DS-KD9403-E6 is the door station for an entrance where visitors should be able to call a flat or an office, and residents or staff should be able to walk in by showing their face. It is an 8-inch, 1280 × 800 capacitive touch screen on the front of the building, a 2 MP camera with 120 dB wide dynamic range and IR light up to 3 m, two built-in microphones and two speakers with noise suppression and echo cancellation — running Android 7.1.

It recognises up to 10,000 faces, reads 13.56 MHz cards (up to 100,000), and holds up to 20,000 users. It links to up to 500 indoor stations and up to 16 sub door stations, which is what makes it a building-entrance device rather than a villa doorbell.

Where it fits

The main entrance of a residential tower or compound gate house, an office building lobby door, a clinic or school entrance — anywhere many people live or work behind one door, and a key or a card alone is not the experience the building wants. The housing is IP65 and the working range is −30 °C to 60 °C, so it is built to sit on an exposed outdoor wall; it mounts on the surface or flush in the wall.

It controls the door directly through two lock relays (30 VDC, 2 A). Note the manufacturer’s condition: the second lock needs Hikvision’s secure door control module. If the entrance has a pedestrian door and a second door or gate to release, tell us so the module goes on the quotation.

Before you order — four things to confirm

• The indoor stations. Each flat or office that should receive calls needs a Hikvision indoor station on the same IP network. Tell us how many and we will match the models.
• Fingerprint or keypad. If residents should also enter by fingerprint or PIN, add the DS-KDM9403-FKP fingerprint & keypad module, which connects only to this door station.
• Power and network. 12 VDC, 2 A, up to 18 W, and a wired Ethernet run (Gigabit RJ-45) to the door. Plan both before the wall is finished.
• Lock and second door. The lock type on the door, and whether a second lock needs the secure module. Professional installation in Cairo & Giza, priced after a site assessment.

Common questions

Does it work on its own, without indoor stations?
As an access terminal with face and card, yes. As an intercom, the calls need somewhere to go — Hikvision indoor stations on the same network. We quote the whole system together so nothing is missing on the day.

Can residents enter with a fingerprint or a PIN?
With the DS-KDM9403-FKP module added, yes. It is ordered separately and connects only to the KD9403.
