Hikvision Video Intercom Network Indoor Station DS-KH6350-WTE1
The DS-KH6350-WTE1 is a Hikvision KH6-series network indoor station: the wall unit a resident uses, where almost every call ends in one look at the screen and one press to open the door. Specify it with the entrance panel, and allow five minutes per apartment to show residents how to answer it. Datasheet on request — call 16454.

Description
The DS-KH6350-WTE1 is a KH6-series network indoor station — the wall unit inside the apartment, and the only part of a video intercom system anyone but an installer ever touches. It is one line on the bill of quantities and, inside the flat, the whole product.
Be honest about what a resident does with it. Almost every hour it spends in service is one sequence: the bell goes, somebody looks at the screen, decides whether they recognise the person at the entrance, and presses one thing. The door opens. Every menu and every extra function a specifier can switch on is decoration around those four seconds.
Where it earns its place on a job
Most of what makes that sequence work is not decided on this unit. The picture has to be good enough to recognise a face, and an indoor station only shows what the door station captures. A visitor who arrives as a silhouette against a bright sky, or a dark shape at night, is a panel-siting and lighting problem, not a monitor problem. Specify the light above the entrance as seriously as you specify the panel.
The unlock has to be one obvious press. Judge the system by eleven o’clock at night, with a delivery driver at the gate and a resident half asleep: one look, one press. Anything needing a second decision at that moment is abandoned inside a month, and the building falls back to shouting “just come up” — exactly the access control the client paid to remove. Every feature enabled beyond that is one more thing to teach, and a support call the day it confuses somebody.
The commonest complaint on a handed-over intercom is not a fault at all. It is a resident who was never shown how to answer it. Five minutes per apartment at handover — the tone, how to answer, which button opens the door — prevents more callouts than any specification decision on the job. Indoor stations sit together in the video intercom category, but that demonstration matters more than the choice between them.
Before you order — three things to confirm
- The face at the panel. Confirm which door station is going in and how the entrance is lit at night and against back-light. Recognition is settled outside, not on this screen.
- Who demonstrates it, and whether it is in the contract. Name the party who walks each apartment, agree the time allowance, and put it in the scope with a signed sheet per unit. If it is nobody’s line item, it will not happen.
- Which functions are enabled at handover. Agree the switched-on feature set in writing before commissioning, and say who trains the building manager on anything beyond answer and unlock.

Compatibility
As a network indoor station it sits on the same IP network as its Hikvision door station and is commissioned as part of that system. Check door-station pairing, firmware and software support against the current datasheet before committing a multi-unit order.
What’s in the box
Carton contents vary by production revision, so we confirm what is supplied — including any mounting or connection parts — against the current revision on your order. Price the job assuming nothing beyond the indoor station itself.
Common questions on this model
What happens if nobody answers?
Nothing opens. The call rings for the configured period and stops; the visitor waits, tries another flat or telephones. Whether a missed call leaves a record anywhere depends on how the system is set up at commissioning — decide that deliberately and tell residents, so an unanswered bell is not later reported as a fault.
Residents say it does not work. What is usually wrong?
Usually nothing. The resident was handed a flat with a screen on the wall and no explanation. Before sending an engineer, ask whether anyone showed them the answer and unlock sequence.
Can we order indoor stations before the door station is decided?
You can, but it is a poor sequence. Recognition, call routing and unlock behaviour are settled at the entrance panel — specify both together and order them as one package.
