Hikvision Pro 1102A Series Card Reader DS-K1102AMK

Hikvision Pro 1102A Series Card Reader DS-K1102AMK

The DS-K1102AMK is the keypad version of Hikvision’s Pro 1102A reader — a wall unit that reads a credential and passes it to a separate access controller, which holds the users and releases the lock. It is not a standalone terminal, so budget for the controller, its enclosure and its power supply. Datasheet and quotation on 16454.

Description

The DS-K1102AMK is the keypad member of Hikvision’s Pro 1102A reader family — the K is the keypad — specified when a door needs a code as well as a credential. It mounts in the corridor, on the side of the wall anyone can walk up to, and should never appear alone on a quotation.

That is because a reader is not a terminal, and mixing the two up is the commonest mistake on an access job. A terminal decides at the door: it holds the user list, matches the credential and drives the lock itself. This does none of that. The 1102AMK reads what is presented and passes it down a cable to a separate access controller, and that controller — in a locked cupboard on the secure side — holds the users, decides and releases the lock. On its own, this device does nothing.

Where it earns its place on a job

That split is not a cheaper compromise, it is how you build any door count above one or two. Users live in one place instead of being re-enrolled device by device, so adding a door costs a reader and two controller ports rather than a rebuild. Lever the 1102AMK off the wall and you still hold no user list and no lock relay. It earns its place on multi-door sites, on jobs that will grow, and anywhere the reading point is exposed. The keypad variant earns it where the client wants a code as well as a card on higher-value doors, or a code for staff who should not hold a credential. If the job is honestly one door and will stay one, the other architecture may cost less: something like the Hikvision Access Control Terminal DS-K1T502DBWX-C puts the decision at the door and saves the controller entirely.

Before you order — three things to confirm

  • The controller is on the quote. The item most often forgotten. Budget for a controller with a free reader input, its enclosure and power supply, plus the lock and its own supply. Price the door, not the reader.
  • The output interface matches the controller’s input. Check the reader’s output standard on the datasheet against what the controller accepts, and settle cable type, cores and permitted run length before anyone pulls a metre of it.
  • The credential technology matches the site. The 1102A series has several variants and they do not all read the same cards. Confirm on the datasheet that this one reads what is already in your client’s pockets, or budget to re-issue the estate.

Compatibility

The 1102AMK connects to an access controller, not to a recorder and not directly to a lock. It will sit on any controller whose reader input matches the output standard on its datasheet, Hikvision or otherwise — that line decides compatibility, not the brand on the front. Enrolment, schedules and event logs all belong to the controller, so compatibility here is really a question about the controller.

What’s in the box

The reader unit itself. We do not list a controller, power supply, lock, exit button, cable or mounting hardware as supplied with it, and you should assume none are. Contents for the revision in stock are confirmed on the order.

Common questions on this model

Can I use the DS-K1102AMK on its own for a single door?
No. It has no user database and no lock relay. Without a controller behind it, it is a wall ornament with a beeper.

Everyone here carries a card — is the keypad version worth the extra?
It is, where you want two factors on a higher-value door, or a code for contractors who should not get cards. Which combinations you can enforce is set by the controller, so confirm that side supports the mode you want.

Can I mount it outside on a gate post?
Only if the datasheet’s environmental protection rating covers that position, and in Egyptian conditions sun and dust matter as much as rain. Ask us for the rating on 16454 first.

Supplied as genuine Hikvision stock with the official one-year manufacturer warranty and delivery across Egypt. For datasheets, controller pairing or a door-by-door quotation, call 16454.
