Hikvision Network Indoor Station DS-KH6110-WE1

Where the DS-KH6110-WE1 goes matters more than which indoor station you buy: one per apartment in the hall is the default, and it is the wrong answer in a duplex, a villa or a deep-plan flat. Agree station count and position per apartment type before first fix. Call 16454.

Description

The DS-KH6110-WE1 is a KH6-series network indoor station — the unit inside the apartment that answers the door station. On most jobs it is specified once per apartment, in the hall beside the front door, and that single line on the bill of quantities is where sound intercom jobs come apart.

It earns its cost only if somebody is within earshot when the bell rings. The resident is in the kitchen with the extractor on, upstairs in a duplex, or in the back bedroom with the door shut. The system worked, the call was missed, and the complaint after handover is not about the hardware.

Where it earns its place on a job

Start from where people are when the bell goes, not from where the door is. The hall is the default position and the wrong answer in half of homes — a corridor people pass through, not a room they sit in. In a conventional flat the honest single-station position is the living area. The hall is where the door is, not where the resident is.

From there: a duplex or a villa needs one per floor; a stair and a closed door lose a call, and no volume setting fixes it. A deep-plan flat with bedrooms off a long corridor needs a second station in the living area even when the first is well placed. A compact flat is genuinely a one-station apartment.

Then the money, made straight. A second station across a fifty-apartment tower is a modest line at tender: one more device, one more drop, priced while the drawings are open. After handover it means a chased wall, a new back box and a decorator. Station count is a first-fix decision, not a snagging item. Where the living area takes a larger primary station and this one is the secondary, the DS-KH6320-WTE1 sits in the same KH6 family and mixes on one job.

Before you order — three things to confirm

  • Count per apartment type, not per apartment. Fix the station count and position with the developer for each unit type — one-bed, two-bed, duplex, penthouse — and price the tower off that schedule. Deciding unit by unit is how duplexes end up with one.
  • Positions on the first-fix drawings. Mark the back box and cable drop for every station before the walls close, including ones you are only fairly sure about. A box left unused costs nothing; one never installed costs a retrofit.
  • The system it is joining. Confirm the door station model, the network path back to the intercom switch, and the addressing for two stations in one apartment.

Technical specifications

  • Manufacturer: Hikvision
  • Model: DS-KH6110-WE1
  • Series: KH6
  • Type: network indoor station for a Hikvision IP video intercom system
  • Role: the in-apartment answering point for the door station
  • Everything else — screen size and resolution, power method, network port and dimensions — full manufacturer datasheet available on request, call 16454.

Compatibility

An IP device that belongs on an IP system: Hikvision network and villa door stations sharing the network with the stations they call. Not a swap for an older four-wire analogue intercom. Where two stations serve one apartment, the arrangement between them is set in configuration, so send the door station model and your per-apartment count with the enquiry.

What’s in the box

Contents for the current revision are confirmed on the order. Assume nothing else is included — no mounting box, no power supply, no door station, no cable. Those are separate lines.

Common questions on this model

Can we add a second station later?
Electrically, yes. Practically it means a cable run through a finished home, a back box cut into a plastered wall and making good afterwards. The device is the cheap part of that job, so the decision is better made now.

Does a duplex really need two?
Treat each floor as a separate apartment. A resident upstairs, with a stair and a closed door between them and a station in the ground-floor hall, will miss calls — and that generates the complaint.

The developer budgeted one per apartment. What do we tell them?
Price the difference at tender, by unit type. Small units carry no uplift; duplexes and large flats carry one extra device and one drop. Set that against a retrofit and the argument makes itself.
