Hikvision Face Recognition Terminal DS-K1T671MF

Hikvision Face Recognition Terminal DS-K1T671MF

The DS-K1T671MF is a Hikvision K1T671-series face recognition terminal for staff entrances, factory gates and office lobbies. The terminal is the easy half of the decision: the management software behind it decides who enrols users, who holds the admin password and what a report looks like. Settle that first, then call 16454.

Description

The DS-K1T671MF is a Hikvision face recognition terminal from the K1T671 series, and on most jobs it is the visible half of a decision nobody actually made. Somebody specified four terminals for four doors. Nobody specified the software that will hold the people walking through them, the shifts they work, or the report HR asks for in March.

That is the argument worth having before the hardware order goes in. A face terminal is a sensor with a door relay: it looks at a face, decides yes or no, closes a contact. Everything the client judges you on in year two — adding a starter in two minutes rather than twenty, removing a leaver from every door at once, proving who was on site last Tuesday — lives in the platform behind it.

Where it earns its place on a job

It earns its place where the door is also the enrolment point and the platform has already been chosen: staff entrances, factory gates, office lobbies where the same people pass daily and attendance matters as much as access. It is a poor fit wherever nobody has agreed who administers the system, because a terminal will run happily on its own and that is the trap. A face terminal without a decided platform is not an access control system; it is a row of doors, each with its own private user list and its own forgotten password.

Price the software into the quotation as a line item and make the client name the person who owns it, then compare units across the face recognition terminals range. The hardware choice is the easy half.

Before you order — three things to confirm

  • Which machine runs the management software, and who owns it. A server, a dedicated PC, or the office manager’s laptop? Does it stay switched on overnight and at weekends, or do the terminals sit unmanaged until someone arrives? Get a name attached to that answer, in writing, before they ship.
  • How the software is licensed. Per door, per terminal, per enrolled user or a flat licence, and perpetual or renewed annually. This is where a job quietly doubles in cost at door six. Confirm it in the same email as the hardware price.
  • Who holds the administrator account. Ask to see a real exported attendance report before you commit, not a dashboard screenshot, and agree how the admin password is handed over when that person leaves. The alternative is a factory reset and re-enrolling every face.

Technical specifications

  • Manufacturer: Hikvision
  • Model: DS-K1T671MF, K1T671 series
  • Type: face recognition access control and time attendance terminal
  • Deployment: networked terminal, intended to be managed from Hikvision access control software rather than door by door
  • Every other figure — capacities, screen, recognition performance, power and dimensions — full manufacturer datasheet available on request, call 16454

Compatibility

Treat this as a Hikvision-ecosystem device: controllers, terminals and management software from the same house. A third-party head-end is a project in its own right and should never be assumed on a quotation. Before promising integration with an HR or payroll system, establish whether that link is live or a file somebody exports monthly, and confirm the software version supports this exact model.

What’s in the box

Supplied as a single terminal. We claim no lock, power supply, exit button, bracket, cable or mounting box in the carton — those are specified against the door and quoted separately. Contents for the current revision are confirmed on the order.

Common questions on this model

Does this need a PC left switched on permanently?
That depends on the platform you deploy, which is why it is the first question to settle rather than the last. Some want a machine online continuously to collect events and push changes; others sync when the software is opened.

Can I skip the software and run it standalone?
You can, and it works. You will then enrol every user, edit every schedule and chase every leaver from the screen on the wall, one door at a time, with no consolidated record. Tolerable at one entrance, unmanageable at four.

HR wants a monthly attendance sheet — will this produce it?
The terminal produces events; the report is a function of the software. You cannot honestly promise a format until the platform is chosen, so ask for a sample export, then say yes.
